The "Pharmer's" Mind in UNMC -- 6 --

Never did I realize how fast time could pass. Until now, when I am no longer a fresher, but a senior.  Recalling back our first year, I could still picture the moment when we first arrive to Nottingham University; struggling to blend into a whole new environment where everything seem so new and unfamiliar to us, suffering from home sick and crying to go home badly. But what I cannot forget the most, are the moments I spent together in uni. From the start where everyone was considered as nobody but simply just strangers, up until now where we couldn’t help but to stick with them everywhere we go.  Looking from another way, I felt thankful to such harsh environment where we could no longer depend on our family, because of this, friends are the one for us to depend on. Remember the moment when we cooked together with our friends simply because we missed home dishes so much? What about the joy and laughter we had while spending our time with friends in sport complex? And not to forget, the hard time we went through together during the mentally agonizing study week and also exam period. Yes, there are too many moments to be treasured, cherished and remembered.  Even moments which were once considered bitter turn out to be so sweet once recalled.=))
University of Nottingham may have provided us with established teaching stuffs and facilities, but what goes beyond the control of the lecturers, is the pleasure studying environment created by us… yes, each and every one of us. I have heard from number of seniors that our batch has been a very hardworking batch; many books in the library were even being borrowed away during the first week of the academic year.  Yes, we fight and strive for the best we could; pushing ourselves really hard until we touched our limit, however, what  I myself appreciate the most is not the  “striving spirit “of ours, but the precious value of not being selfish of sharing our knowledge with one another. I am glad to have peers who are there to give me a hand whenever I encountered doubts in my studies, and to be more specific, they are never stingy of doing so.  They could have kept to themselves; but they have chosen the wise one- which is to help those who are struggling with their studies. Making sure that they could advance into the next academic year is not their only responsibility, but to also escort their peers at the same time. Such positive learning environment cannot be designed by any of our lecturers no matter how much effort they dumped, but fortunately, it is being created by us. I know that with us, the joy of learning could be preserved for the following 3 years. At the time being, I do hope that such value can be passed on to our juniors.
I remember the time when I first enrolled into the uni, I did not attend the orientation or the induction, meaning that I have missed out the chance to know my seniors. While I thought that getting aid in studies from senior is an impossible mission for me, I was given a buddy =)). I clearly know that being into the second year is nothing easy and seniors have their studies to bother with. Not wanting to disturb them, I still came to times when I could do nothing but to seek for help. Apology is what I could say for disturbance caused, but in return, he offered me with plenty of patience and detailed information on my question asked, no matter how stupid my question turn out to be. I really thank him for his care, especially the time when I received a message in concern with my exam performance right after I finished my first ever exam in uni. Indeed, a genuine buddy I have. =)) Now that he has left for UK along with other seniors, I sincerely wish that they could all achieve their dream in becoming a professional pharmacist. Not to forget, to enjoy every moment spent at the same time. University’s life has been thought as one of the most memorable part of one’s life, so let’s cherish and spend wisely for our once in a life time experience…. GOODLUCK TO ALL!!!
